April Housing Statistics for Elkhart Indiana

The outlook moving forward is continued steady
improvement. With historically low
interest rates, combined with a March unemployment rate that was the lowest
since September of 2008, buyer activity is reported strong and consumer
confidence continues to increase.
Elkhart County
• The number of closed home sales increased 10.2 percent to 151;
• The median sale price of those homes increased 5.9 percent to $92,000;
• The number of new listings dropped 1.1 percent to 266; and
• The percent of original list price received increased 0.8 percent to 89.2 percent.

St. Joseph county has also seen promising growth. For the last three months compared to a year
ago, there has been a 29.1% increase in closed sales.

• The number of new listings dropped 8.7 percent to 461; and
• The percent of original list price received increased 2.5 percent to 86.9 percent.
